Nintendo Switch Games That Are Cheaper On Mobile

Spread the love
    1. ARK: Survival Evolved (Studio Wildcard)

      Nintendo Switch: (estimated) $49.99
      Android: $FREE
This game’s yet to be released and I already know it’s cheaper on Android, by far! It’s due out in about a week, so EB Games has had the pre-order cases out on display for weeks – with its price tag. Even if the estimated price is wrong, it’s already more expensive than the mobile version. ARK: Survival Evolved is the rare opportunity on this list. You could pre-order it blindly and hope, but you could also just download it on your phone and give it a shot before it comes out. And then decide if you want it for the Switch. Who doesn’t want to be able to ride dinosaurs while shooting assault rifles though, really?
Interestingly, Nintendo has yet to even put it on its website. So here’s a preview from Google Play:

PLEASE NOTE: This game is officially supported only on touchscreen Android devices with at least 3 GB of RAM and up-to-date Vulkan support. There are some devices that should be able to play that are listed as incompatible, we will fix this as soon as we can!

    2. EXCEPTION: Arena Of Valor (Tencent Games)

      Nintendo Switch: $FREE
      Android: $FREE
Arena of Valor is a 5 vs 5 strategic battle game where you control your Champions and fight to destroy the other team’s towers. The team to reach the last one and destroy it wins. The game’s artwork is attractive and the gameplay style is interesting enough to keep you playing whether you’re on mobile or the Switch. The only downfall, from what I can tell, is that they only let you connect your Switch and Android accounts for a limited time, which is over now. Correct me if I’m wrong, I’d love to figure out what I’m doing wrong!

    3. EXCEPTION: Fortnite (Epic Games)

      Nintendo Switch: $FREE
      Android: $FREE
Maybe you’ve heard of this one. Fortnite is a Battle Royale that’s absolutely crazy. And absolutely crazy popular. Part Battle Royale, part Minecraft, everyone’s playing it or learning the dance moves the characters do. It’s been the bane of teachers’ existence. It’s unprecedentedly been the most popular game to avoid being downloaded on Google Play. And yet, it remains one of the most popular games to be played today, on any device.

There are more Switch/Mobile games out there. Too many to list. It’s important to note that many of the games are more expensive on the Nintendo Switch probably for various reasons. For starters, those cartridges are expensive. Not to mention some mobile games being ported over to the Switch may not be the biggest games in the first place. The porting process costs money, the effort involved to bring these little mobile games to a new platform in general took some valuable time.

It’s also important to remember that pretty much ANY game listed “FREE” likely has micro-transactions within the game. Micro-transactions that, you know, cost real-world money. Even the paid ones may have some micro-transactions, or purchasable DLC, or even both! So whether you’re downloading a “freebie” game or not, be aware of your spending habits in the game.
